Privacy

Your clipboard history stays on your Mac. We never upload, transmit or store what you copy.

Where your data lives

Everything Pastea captures is stored in a local database in your Application Support folder. Items copied from password managers are marked concealed — hidden in the UI and never used for link previews. You can stop Pastea saving them at all in Settings → Privacy.

Anonymous usage analytics

If left enabled, Pastea sends anonymous product analytics so we know which features are used and which systems to support. This never includes clipboard content. It covers:

No names, email addresses, serial numbers, file paths or clipboard content are collected. Turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous usage analytics.

Network access

Pastea reaches the network for exactly three things: fetching a title and preview image for links you copy (never for concealed items), checking for app updates, and sending the analytics above if enabled.

Permissions

Accessibility lets Pastea paste into other apps. Screenshot-folder access lets it pick up screenshots you save to disk. Both are optional and requested only when the related feature is used.
