Terms of Use
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Welcome to Pastea. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Pastea apps for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, the Pastea website, and any related services, features, updates, or software we provide (collectively, the “Services”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Pastea, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Services.
1. About Pastea
Crafted by Nexo Labs, Pastea is a clipboard history manager for Mac, iPhone, and iPad designed to help you save, search, organize, and reuse content.
Pastea may store different types of clipboard content locally on your device, including text, links, code, images, files, colors, and screenshots.
Some features may require optional system permissions or network access. More information about how Pastea handles information is available in our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws applicable to you in order to use Pastea.
If you are using Pastea on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3. License to Use Pastea
Subject to these Terms, Pastea grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use the application on devices you own or control.
This license does not transfer ownership of Pastea or any part of the software to you.
Unless applicable law allows it, you may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit Pastea.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Pastea's source code.
- Bypass security, licensing, usage limits, or access restrictions.
- Use Pastea to interfere with or damage another system, service, or person.
- Use automated methods to abuse or overload our website, infrastructure, or services.
- Use Pastea in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
4. Your Clipboard Content
You remain responsible for the content you copy, save, organize, or paste using Pastea.
Pastea does not give you ownership or permission to use content belonging to another person. You are responsible for making sure that your use of copied content complies with applicable laws, contracts, copyright rules, confidentiality obligations, and other third-party rights.
You should take particular care when copying sensitive information, confidential business information, personal data, passwords, authentication credentials, financial information, or other material that should not be retained.
Pastea provides privacy controls intended to help you decide what should and should not be saved, but you are responsible for configuring the application appropriately for your use.
5. Local Data and Privacy
Pastea is designed so that your clipboard history is stored locally on your device rather than on Pastea's servers. If you enable iCloud history sync, it is stored in your private iCloud database under your Apple Account.
Certain optional features may communicate with the internet. For example, Pastea may retrieve information such as a title or preview image for a link you copy, check for software updates, verify purchases and access, or send usage analytics if analytics are enabled.
Our collection and use of information is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your use of the Services.
6. Permissions
Some Pastea features may require system permissions.
For example, Accessibility permission may be required for features that paste content into other applications, while access to your screenshot folder may be required for screenshot-related features.
These permissions are requested only when relevant features require them. You can manage permissions through your device's settings, although disabling a permission may prevent certain Pastea features from working.
7. Security
We work to design Pastea with privacy and security in mind, but no software can guarantee complete security or uninterrupted operation.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your devices, user accounts, files, and any information stored within your Pastea history.
We recommend protecting your devices with appropriate security measures and avoiding the storage of information that you would not want another person with access to a device to see.
8. Trial, Plans, and Payment
Pastea offers seven days of full access before a one-time lifetime purchase is needed for continued use. In the App Store versions, you choose when to start the trial by confirming a free $0 In-App Purchase. It does not renew or charge you automatically. The direct-download Mac version starts its trial on first use. Your locally stored clipboard history is not deleted when a trial or license lapses. In the App Store versions, new clips may continue to be saved while viewing and using history is locked; in the direct-download Mac version, capture and pasting pause after the trial.
Direct-download Mac purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy. App Store purchases are processed by Apple. Pastea verifies access through its licensing service and may recognize a direct Mac purchase on your other devices when iCloud Keychain is enabled. These practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
Features, limits, prices, and availability may vary over time.
Before purchasing a paid plan, you will be shown the applicable price and payment terms.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase:
- Prices may include or exclude applicable taxes depending on your location.
- Refund rights required by applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
For App Store purchases, Apple's purchase and refund terms also apply. Pastea does not offer a renewing subscription or a recurring billing period.
9. Early Access and Beta Features
Pastea may occasionally provide features as part of an early-access, preview, experimental, or beta program.
These features may be incomplete, change without notice, contain errors, or stop working.
You acknowledge that beta or early-access features may be less reliable than generally released features and should not be relied upon for critical workflows or as the only copy of important information.
We may modify or discontinue beta functionality at any time.
10. Updates and Changes to Pastea
We may update Pastea from time to time to improve performance, security, compatibility, or functionality.
Updates may add, modify, or remove features.
We do not guarantee that every existing feature will remain available indefinitely or that Pastea will remain compatible with every operating-system version, hardware configuration, application, or third-party service.
11. Third-Party Services and Content
Pastea may interact with macOS, applications installed on your device, websites, links, or third-party services.
We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their availability, content, security practices, privacy practices, or functionality.
Your use of third-party products and services is governed by their own terms and policies.
12. Intellectual Property
Pastea, including its software, website, interface, branding, graphics, design, documentation, and other materials created by us, is owned by Pastea or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in Pastea.
“Pastea,” its logo, and related branding may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without our permission.
13. Feedback
We welcome suggestions, ideas, bug reports, and other feedback about Pastea.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, you allow us to use it to develop, improve, and operate Pastea without restriction or obligation to compensate you.
14. Availability of the Services
We aim to keep Pastea reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every application or device.
Features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, software updates, operating-system changes, third-party services, or circumstances outside our control.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important information.
Pastea should not be treated as the sole permanent storage location for critical or irreplaceable information.
15. Refunds
We want you to feel confident purchasing Pastea. If Pastea does not meet your expectations, you may request a refund within 7 calendar days of your original purchase date.
The 7-day money-back guarantee applies to purchases made directly through Pastea or our authorized payment provider. Purchases made through third-party marketplaces or platforms may instead be subject to the refund policies of those platforms.
Refund requests submitted more than 7 days after the original purchase date are generally not eligible for the money-back guarantee. However, we may consider exceptional circumstances at our discretion where appropriate.
We reserve the right to refuse refund requests where we reasonably believe the guarantee is being abused, including repeated purchases and refund requests intended to obtain continued access to Pastea without payment.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pastea is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We make no warranty that Pastea will:
- Meet every specific requirement or workflow.
- Operate without interruption or errors.
- Preserve every clipboard item indefinitely.
- Be compatible with every application or operating-system version.
- Prevent all data loss, unauthorized access, or security incidents.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pastea and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Services.
This includes, where permitted by law, loss of data, clipboard history, files, profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, or productivity.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability relating to the Services will be limited to the greater of:
- the amount you paid to Pastea during the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- the minimum amount of liability required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
18. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Pastea at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to some or all Services if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the Services, attempt to compromise their security, or use them unlawfully.
Where reasonably possible, we will try to provide notice before taking such action unless immediate action is necessary for legal, security, or technical reasons.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply after your use of Pastea ends.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Pastea evolves or when legal, regulatory, or operational requirements change.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
Your continued use of Pastea after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree with an updated version, you should stop using the Services.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Morocco, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Services will be handled by the competent courts of Morocco, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
21. General Terms
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our permission. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the Pastea business.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for particular features or purchases, form the agreement between you and Pastea regarding your use of the Services.
